I installed the 4th Axis on my 1100 tonight. It went pretty well and took about an hour and a half to complete. There are a couple of comments/observations/questions.
1) Took a while to realize that when the axis is mounted in a vertical position the oil will leak out of the bottom of the table before it appears half way up the sight glass. Finally noticed the puddle of oil.
2) I have a little bit of gear noise in one direction. Will readjust the gear lash to see if this helps.
3) The Axis Stepper motor interferes with the front panel of the Table Guard when the Axis is mounted in the center tee slot. Looks like I need to remove about 1/4" from the top edge of the left side of the front wall.
Setting up now to machine the Oscillator Cam, Barrel Cam and Oscillator Body of my Gatling Gun. Plan on using the Morse Taper Collet to fixture parts on mandrels, I also have the 4 jaw chuck for large parts.

I plan to drill new mounting holes in the side guards, to replace the slots that currently mount the guards to the table. That way, I can shift the entire guard assembly forward.

Vertical Lathe tool holders and more.
That actually sounds like an easier and more attractive alternative. It will increase the gap between the table and front pan but stuff goes through there anyway.
Will likely do one or the other tonight.
I did as Texfred suggested, just drilled two new holes and all worked well. That was over a year ago and there has been no issues with coolant leakage in the front.
