Silver/Blue screen set for the Tormach

    Hello,

Thought I’d show you guys a Tormach custimized screen set I have made.
It is original content from Tormach and the Silver/Blue ScreenSet by InsomniaX (Mr Bean and SantiniUK) on the Mach3 screens download. I just used MachScreen and Windows Paint to move around or add buttons.

I’ve attached screen shots of each page and I’ll highlight features of each page.

Program Run screen: I removed the tool path graphic to make room for a larger G code window.
Enlarged the Tool # font and added the tool table description window below.
Added the “Distance to Go” button. This is nice to use when single stepping through a new program.
Added “Soft Limit” button. This slows jog travel incrementally till stopped before hitting the limit switches. And during program run, it will stop travel right before hitting the limit switch with out slowing first. Save a need for re referencing. This requires access to the Tormach configuration s it needs to be unlocked.
“Rapid Override” slows all rapids to the percentage entered. Also good for checking out new programs.

    MDI screen: no changes

Toolpath screen: no changes. The Program Limits help determine if a fixture needs to be moved before running the part.

Offset page: I only moved this around a little. I find it much easier to use than the stock offset screen.

    Setting screen: no changes.

Diagnostic screen: I changed what used to be CPU Speed to CPU Load. My machine runs at 19% during program run. The Time IN INT displayed is like Driver Test.

X Y Probe, Z Probe, and Probe calibrate are copy and paste of Tormach’s OEM screens and code with a new background. I do not have a probe myself so it is not tested. But “it should work”.

Well there it is. If anyone would like me to send this screen set it to them. Please just PM me with your email. I’ll send a ZIP that you’ll need to extract into the PCNC3 directory.

For anyone I have sent this screen set to already and are getting a can't find files error. I have changed the Install instructions:

    To Install

    1) Make a copy of your C:\PCNC3 direcory and all its contents.

    2) Unzip files to \PCNC3 directory. Click Yes to Copy Bitmaps directory.

    3) If you do not have a Duality lathe and need the HDD space.
    Delete DualityTurnSilverBlue.lset and directory Bitmaps\InsomniaXLatheSet.

    4) Verify you see MachSteelBlueTormach.set is in the C:\PCNC3 directory

    5) Verify you see C:\PCNC3\Bitmaps\MachSteelBlueTormach\*.*

(If you see a C:\PCNC3\Tormach_Silver_Blue_Screen\ directory please delete this directory and reinstall Zip to match paths above)

    6) Open Mach3, Click View \ Load Screens.

    7) Find MachSteelBlueTormach.set and select.

In a few moments it should be ready to go.

This is the install instructions on the Mach3 site.

    .zip

.zip files are the ordinary compressed/archived filetype commonly used throughout the internet.
    1.Download the file
2.Extract the contents of the file. Typically there will be a .set (or .lset) file as well as a directory full of graphics
3.Copy the .set file into the Mach3 installation directory (typically C:\Mach3 (in or case C:\PCNC3))
4.Copy the graphic directory into the Mach3\Bitmaps folder (this may vary with some sets)
5.Open Mach3 and load the screens like normal

    I'm not a Mach3 developer so I can't say with authority but...
This screen was first released back when Mach3 ver 1.9 was current and it still works. The buttons I added were standard OEM functions from a drop down list. The only tricky things are Tormachs macros for probing and a few others.
I think it will work fine on future releases of Mach3. I tend to be an 'early adopter' of final realeses of Mach3 (no beta) so I'll pass it on if there are issues.
