Moving a PCNC 1100

Hi,

Anyone have thoughts on moving an assembled PCNC 1100? If I put it on a flatbed trailer, would it survive an 1100 miles journey? Can it be secured enough without the straps putting too much stress where is doesn't belong?

Anyone have experience moving one a long distance?

When I asked Tormach the same question they cautioned that the tabs that the adjustable legs go through are not welded robust enough to handle much strain (ie bouncing along on a trailer).

I'm sure some blocking would easily fix that problem though.

It isn't a lot of work to remove the machine from the stand so at a minimum do that. Also use a couple of straps and maybe some duct tape to hold the control panel door shut and unlock it. I hit a bump when moving mine and it broke the latch on the door lock. It wasn't expensive to replace but I had to order the part from Tormach.

I just moved one 1000 miles on the back of a 3/4 ton truck with no problem.
Placed a wood block between the spindle and table. Cross strapped to each
corner across the head, and everything is fine. Did not disassemble anything.

I have a custom enclosure on mine and it would have been torn up by the turbulence of the highway. I rented a Budget Truck with lift gate and used a pallet jack. It was easy but loading was stressful. I had to take the Z-axis motor off, BTW.
