Got my 4 axis and want to hook it up.

    Hi,

I bought a nice set-up from a member. He included everything I needed to hook it up and go (plug and play). It is from 2007 and everything seams to be there. I do have to drill and tap two holes for the driver. There are 4 holes already there but there not for this driver. I'm trying to use the mounting instruction off Tormachs site. They want me to use SB0014_4th_axis for the instuctions. The drive in that picture doesnt look like the new one they sell now on there web site.

Any help would be great. Im including some pictures of what came with it. Also one of my box.

It looks like I have a 3 diget Serial Number.

You will need to make a standoff for the driver. I have attached a pdf for it. and a picture of how it is used.

    Thank you Scott

It looks like I have TorDrive 7A (30164) drives in my machine. I have a 3 digit serial number machine. Is it posable to hook the newer TorDrive 6A (30737 drive to my old machine?

I just upgraded all my drivers to the new Series 2 , but...I had previously upgraded my spindle so I have the new machine control board as well. I know the new board has no problem with the old drives ( my 4th axis is the old drive ) But I am not 100% sure the old board is compatible with the new drives. My guess would be yes but that is only a guess. I would suggest a call to Tormach on Monday. If it is a problem, I have 2 spares of the old drive and would swap with you. ( I'll bet Tormach would too. )

    Hi Guys,

I have the 4th axis all hooked up and it rocks. A big thanks to the help of Tormach and Scott. Now to upgrade the spindle.
