The Tormach 8" 4th axis works well for me. I have been using the 4th axis for three years with my PCNC and found the 4th axis to be reliable and very useful. My 4th axis is used with a 5C collet chuck, 3 jaw chuck¸ with parts mounted in a MT3 adapter, or with parts clamped directly onto the rotary table. I use the 4th axis in both the horizontal and vertical positions. The only drawback for me has been that the 8" 4th axis is difficult to lift however I have a motorized hoist that will be installed on an overhead pivot to make switching out the 4th axis and also the Kurt 6" D688 vise easier. see : http://www.harborfreight.com/110-vol...rol-40765.html
Here is a video of my 8" 4th axis in action:http://s72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...t=100_3625.mp4
