probing

I found this nice probe. It exactly the same as the Tormach but for 500$ less... http://www.kelinginc.net/CNCMachineProbe.html

Buy me a Beer?

I think you can get the Heidenhain KT130 cheaper than that.

Freddy,
How well does the Keling probe work with the Tormach M3 controller? Is it simply a plug and play probe?

Al,
And is the Heidenhain KT130 compatible with Tormach M3?

Finally, I got the one from Tormach. (More easy for me to order directly from Tormach as Tormach is already registered as one one of our supplier).

And yes, it's really a plug and play. Very easy to use and so much usefull. I can't work without it now...

It is 5v npn open collector, never seen a Tormach so I cannot compare directly, the open collector output is the most common, the cheaper ones have simple contact closure.
Anyone have a list of measuring macro's?
Al.

Al,
Would you use a pullup resistor between the open collector and the signal wire? If so, assuming a 5V source on the signal wire, what size would you recommend? Or perhaps a better question is "what would be the target current draw?". I am assuming a target of about 10mA (with 20mA the maximum).

Thanks,
Bevin.
PS. Do you still have the same haircut?
