Swarf Management

To save time brushing swarf out of the "T" slots I have made up 2 trays to collect the worst. See pics below. The shapes could be improved but even as they are there is a big time saving.

That's a really good idea. I've seen old-timers who always lay a rag down over the t-slots when just doing a quick job. I adopted the habit, but never thought of applying it to larger jobs.

Thanks Flick. - I forgot to mention another benefit - the trays keep the coolant outlets more clear of swarf and so drain freely for longer.

That is a neat idea, keen. I've seen perforated "gutter covers" to cap the tslots, but your idea is more self-contained, like a dustpan.

And that is a whole lotta swarf! Was there a solid piece of rawstock where the two "blades" are sticking up?

Thanks Randy. Yeh solid blocks of K600 toolsteel (really tough). Right on the motor power and ridgidity limit for the Tormach.
