...to the "Benchtop Machines" forum. It would have been nice for whoever who did the deed to at least announce it here--there was a decent amount of Tormach discussion going on... Randy Last edited by zephyr9900; 03-23-2009 at 09:58 PM. |

| These Forums are so vast and intimidating that I am willing to overlook some threads being misplaced. Good thing I ain't a Mod here. ![]() I am at the point in my business where I think it would be beneficial to have a second cnc mill. The one I built works all the time. It is able to keep up with my production pace, but would like to ease it's burden some. For this reason, I am seriously considering a store bought mill. I like to see threads that compare others with Tormach. It will still be a year or two before I have my second shop finished, but then I want a Tormach.

Paying that banner ad each month gives you a lot of leverage on this forum. The fact that Tormach is constantly exercising that leverage leads me to think that there is a serious struggle going on. |

| Machinery's Handbook define it as follows: advertising leverage = (monthly payment x number of months remaining on the contract) x (1 + probability of renewal)^3. units are dollar-months. Phil ![]() |

| Phil - Thanks. I think that they simplified it just a bit. They forgot to subtract any negative leverage due to prepayment of contract months. All in all, the probability of renewal term most likely washes any negative effect of prepayment. Regards, - Just Gary |

| Did I say I thought that Tormach had influenced the move. I don't accept the "poser" accusation. The total weight is the total weight, clearly it included the stand as it is integral with the machine. The machine is obviously a serious attempt. A person doesn't go to all that trouble for a “quick smash and grab". To be fair Randy I thought the comparison with the Tormach was obvious and of interest, without the need to spell it out. I don't claim the machine is either good or bad, but I do think it is interesting enough not to be dismissed out of hand. Just a few thoughts Phil ![]()
