Hi everyone, I upgraded from SprutCam 5.48 (which was working out great) to 5.50 a day or two ago. Now I cannot post any of my programs. The only processors that show up are for lathe. I downloaded the post from Tormach's site, but still no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to work? Thanks in advance, Tom |

Do you have the Tormach-only version of SprutCAM or the all-posts version? The Tormach-only version uses *.ppl post files and the other uses *.spp post files. You need the right one for the version that you are using. Mike

Or maybe you could try editing the 3 letter extension from one to the other. Just a thought Phil

I had a similar problem recently when I tried to run the latest post from Tormach's site in version 5.47. It turned out that the Tormach only version of Sprutcam 5.47 will only recognize ".ppl" extension files as MichaelHenry mentioned. The only file with a ".ppl" extension on Tormach's site is a lathe post but they do have a newer mill post (which is, from what I understand, better for 4th axis work) available. A member here was kind enough to email it to me but I'm sure Tormach will provide it. The older PCNC.ppl post from 3/08 will work also but maybe that folder might have gotten changed when you upgraded so the file is no longer there!? I heard it mentioned that ".spp" files will work in version 5.5 (Tormach only version) but I haven't tried it yet.

Tom, Not sure if this will help.... I noticed when I installed 5.50 that there is a new define statement in the system parameter page where one defines where the directories are for postprocessors, models, NC posts, etc... The new (at least to me) define statement is something like $(private_profile)... It looks to me as if the main postprocessors and things like that are stored in the All_User/application/Sprutcam/SprutCam2007...... directories. All the user things appeared to be stored in the user's my Documents/sprutcam/sprutcam..... directories. Maybe you are not pointing to the correct directory to find your postprocessor. I did not see a definition for this new definition statement in the help system or the manual. I also remember that one needed to select the correct type of machine in a setup menu as well. I have the all-post version so your exact steps may differ. Robert

When you have crazy stuff going on, there are a couple files that you can delete, that at least for me, seems to correct it. Do a search for sprutcam.dsk and sprutcam.cfg and move them to a backup folder out of the sprutcam directory. This thread talks about it: http://forums.sprutcam.com/forums/in...l=sprutcam.cfg David

Thanks for all of your replies. I have solved my problem for now. I reinstalled SprutCam version 4.7. It ran just fine. Then I installed version 5.5, only running the file called setup_sprutcam2007_we.exe. The first time I tried to install 5.5, I had that file, the hasp file, and the post processor file. It appears that the post they sent me was only the lathe post. Everything seems to be running well now. I am doing the same thing as MarkWink and running the older post.
