Tormach CNC Tool System

I,m thinking of ordering a Tormach CNC Quick ChangeTool System. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has one and their thoughts?

I use it and it's great, works as advertised. I use it for 95% of what I do, (which I have to admit isn't much), because it saves time. It’s perfect for quick manual changes but is limited on maximum grunt (so they say). On the occasions when I need to get aggressive I use a normal R8 shanked tool, or alternatively make two passes with the TTS.

Phil

PS: Personally I have never had a tool slip.

TTS System

I find it is the perfect match for the Tormach.
What I find most advantageous is the ability to have set a tool length.
If you are working on a manual machine this may not be so important.
Cheers

Tooling system

Thanks for your comments guy's.
I will order one as soon as the Aussie $ shows signs of improvement against the US$. if I buy now it will increase the price by AU$300-400.
Thanks again

If you have a decent lathe, you can do your own TTS tooling quite easily. I've about 43 TTS holders and 12 of them are custom made by myself.

I didn't buy the whole set. Just bought some tool holders. 4 3/8" shank holders and one 1/4". I do need more occasionally and will just make those myself.

I would get the measuring base too if I didn't have a lathe to make one.

I like these alot.
