PCNC Dim for Stand I was wondering if anyone could give me a few dimensions off their machine. what i am doing is a stand design thatthe whole machine will sit in but i need to know how deep to make it. from the side view I need the back of the cabinet to the back of the base and the back of the cabinet to the back of the motor (y axis) I know that the motor stick out the back of the m,achine fromthe picture but there is no dimension as to how far back I would like to build a detachable guard to prevent damage. just don't know how far to put it and still be saving space. If needed I can give a drawing with the dimension needed if I'm not clear enough thanks

Here are the dimensions you asked for. The Cabinet is set back 3/4" from the back from the Stand. From the back of the Base to the back of the Y Axis Stepper Motor is 10" From the back of the Cabinet to the back of the Y Axis Stepper Motor is 9-1/4" Willy

Thanks Willyb the pictures from the space planning don't jive top view to side view.. (D40148 page 1 0f 4 ) with the numbers that you gave me I see that the top view is more accurately depicted. When I'm done I'll post the solidworks files would be better if they had the actual machine dimensions so that i could draw the whole machine to better design the stand but I'll work with what I have. of course if a Tormach owner was willing to dimension the machine for me i would be eternally grateful thanks

Hi cruizer67 Keep in mined that those measures I gave you were taken with a Tape. So go plus or minus 1/8" I am sure you are going to allow for some clearance. Let me know if you require any other dimensions. Is your Stand going to have four high sides something like the Enclosure on a Commercial CNC Machine? I was originally planning to build a Stand similar to the Haas Mini Mill. But now I am leaning towards a modified copy of the Deluxe Tormach Stand. I am just a little concerned how well the Tormach Stand is at containing Swarf and Coolant? Cheers Willy
