Just added a tool to the ATC and when it loaded and started the op the Spindle didn’t start. After troubleshooting found an error code on the VFD. TORMACH Overnighting a new one on Monday.

Same exact thing happened to me two times. The controller went dead when I added the pbd and atc Its pretty bad when adding stuff and the controller burns out but good to know im not the only one this happens to. Im kinda worried about adding the 4th axis when it comes out now that my machine is no longer under warranty.

So your spindle DC controller was replaced twice? I hope that's not the case since that means they are totally unreliable item. Tormach should really be extending warranty on the electronics on these machines since they are most common thing that fails and which should really not fail in just couple of months worth of use.

That Leadshine MX3660 definitely isn't ready for prime time. Tormach must be sorry they went for the all-in-one solution instead of the tried-and-true machine control board and separate drivers.

But it probably makes the electronics panel build much faster.

Install on the new VFD was simple. Everything works fine. Only quirk is that the VFD light on the status page does not illuminate at Spindle speeds less than 1250 rpm. Anyone else see this??
