I have a PCNC 1100 Serirs II that’s 6 plus years old and I use SwissLube Blazocut 2000 Universal and to date, I have no rust in or on my machine, and the coolant has not caused any paint peeling.

Last time I bought coolant it was about $160.00 for a 5 gallon pail, but that was over a year ago.

I do occasionally use a Fogbuster spray mist, but I am a big fan of flood coolant.

I just switched us over to Qualichem 251c at work, and our surface finish quality really took a boost. When I'm finally out of coolant at home, I plan to switch my 770 over to it.

Keep in mind that it does have a smell. I don't find it offensive...kind of smells like a laundromat in the shop now...but it may be something your family doesn't like if your mill is close to the house (mine is in my basement, but I live alone).

Thank you. Currently I'm using duracut in the lathe (mill hasn't arrived yet). It's fine but it leaves the surfaces of the mill sticky, and cleanup of chips is more difficult. Does Qualichem do that?

I’m sensitive to chemicals. I really like koolmist 77.

It does leave a protective film but it's easily wiped off...I wipe down the vises with a paper towel before setting up, but I don't bother wiping down anything else. I always wash down the mill after working, so chips sticking isn't a problem either.

I use Qualichem 251C with a Fog Buster on my 1100 mill and as flood coolant on my SBL lathe. The dried residue hasn't been a problem so far with the lathe. It wipes off flat surfaces pretty easily and I use a garden-type spray nozzle off a tee on the coolant line to rinse that lathe done and was swarf into the chip tray. No odors from either machine or signs of in a couple years of use at 7-8%.
