    Default HELP!! Yet another alarm.

I posted this in the PathPilot section, but I think it will get in front of more eyeballs here.

Tormach tech support lines are jammed up.

Has anybody seen this alarm before?
My program ran fine for tool #1, then at tool change for tool #2 it gave me this alarm:
    ...........
    pycall(smart_cool_M9):
    Traceback (most recent call last)
    File "python/remap.py", line 267, in smart_cool_M9
    self.execute ('M68 E29 Q3.0') #3.0 is M9
    interpreterExemption: <interpreter.intreperterExemption object at 0xb75b70ec>

What the Hell does that mean??
    HELP!!

    Russ,
The M9 call is supposed to turn off the coolant. Seems like something is wrong with the call to turn off the relay for coolant, but I am not a PathPilot expert. Try to execute those commands M8 and M9 on the command line and see if the coolant turns on and off.

    Russ Larson

Coolant – Turns coolant on (LED illuminated) or off (LED off). Clicking this button turns power on or off to the coolant accessory port on the side of the electrical cabinet – so long as the Coolant switch on the operator panel is in Auto mode. This button is the equivalent to M8/M9 G-code commands. It may be clicked before, after, or during program execution, or an MDI move.

    Panic averted. Problem solved.
It was a glitch in my old Pathpilot Version 8.
I upgraded to V12, and the problem went away.

John Lee at tech support was great. He said my older version was causing the glitch.

I have considered switching to Path Pilot but after some of the horror stories I have seen on this site, I think I'll just stick with my Mach III.

    Steve, you might consider changing.
I held on to MACH3 as long as I could, (because I'm cheap), but it started acting screwy on me too.
It was losing Z location when trying to do small, helical moves.
So I upgraded to PathPilot, and I'm glad I did.
PathPilot is MUCH better software than MACH3.
The machine runs smoother, steppers sound better, no lost steps, no unexplained movements, and it uses G84!
    No more long-handed tapping programs!

Totally agree with RussM. Had the same weirdness with M3 (different problem, but similarly unfixable despite heroic efforts). PP switch was clean, easy, and I do think my 1100 runs more happily.
