    Default MY NEW TOOL BOX

Well, i finally broke down and treated myself to a new tool box

Gerstner was having a $500.00 off sale and i just felt the need to replace the cheap Chinese knockoff I've been using for the last 15 or so years.

I had several choices o material to make it out of so I chose HICKORY.

I've seen Gerstner boxes on machinist and tool makers benches that were made from oak or walnut, but I had never seen one made from HICKORY.

And besides, for $500.00 off, how could I go wrong.

    Steve, very nice!

Love those old school machinest box's, don't think I have ever seen one in the flesh in Australia for some reason.

    Cheers,

I have one almost like it Steve, It belonged to my father, it is Oak and dates to about 1940-45, I can remember seeing it in my early childhood, and my brother and I had strict orders not to touch it!!

I remember the first time I saw hickory cabinets. It took me a bit to get used to something different, but now I love that wood. I'm also a big fan of hickory hard wood floors. Nice choice!
