As usual disaster has struck when the machine is needed.
This afternoon the display started getting lines across the screen and acting funny. I decided to shutdown the machine and check connections. When I tried to start the controller back up, it starts to boot and after a couple of seconds the yellow/orange light on the front under the power switch blinks and an alarm chirps. This will continue for a few seconds then the controller shuts down and the cycle of boot/flash/chirp starts again.
When a PC fails to boot while in POST, it will beep, and/or blink the power LED in a specified (manufacturer-specific) pattern. So, figure out what motherboard you have, not the pattern of beeps or blinks (number of beeps/blinks - some may be short, others long), and do some Googling to find the codes for that specific motherboard. It will usually point to a memory, video card, or other low-level failure.
Hard Drive is failing, Reseated connectors and slapped it on the butt like birthin' a baby and it now boots. Copied over work files and will replace with a Solid State Drive.
