Pics of motor - or part number for reference? Same VFD?

I just changed the motor to a 3hp and belt sheave to have speeds and torque from 50 rpm to 5000 rpm. Though the testing last evening to able to drill a 1.125 with a drill bit( 7/16 pilot hole) though 0.250 304 stainless plate with no hesitation or stalling of machine. Video and load meter stayed in the middle to lower part of load meter. Machine now has no hesitations when drilling 0.500 holes in stainless plate ( drilled a lot plates last night) May make kits avail if any interest out there.

I would love something like this for the 440, but obviously less HP. It would be great to be able to take 0.75HP cuts at any RPM, and not struggle with drilling, and no belt changes. Basically make cuts limited by the machines rigidity, rather than the motor stalling, at any RPM.
I'm happy to hear you were able to do this motor swap. I often wondered if such a thing could be done without throwing off the motor-to-software calibrations. I have a 770 mill so in my mind I wondered about possibly being able to change out my 770's motor with an 1100's motor. If so, it might mean that a Tormach 440 owner might be able to replace their motor with one out of a 770 mill.
Does that make any sense? I too would love to have a bit more torque to work with.

I'd be in! Let me know!
So, this is a single pulley setup then? I assume you have to change out to a matching VFD... Pics or it didn't happen
I used one of these on my Grizzly G0704. It is 1.5 HP. It might just fit in a 440? It is smaller than most conventional 1.5HP motors. https://www.zoro.com/leeson-metric-m...2/?q=192067.30

Here is a video i just took of it drilling holes with no pilot hole in stainless steel 304 brushed tubing with a 1.125 KBC TOOLS Drill bit.
This is great. Now show us what can it do in aluminum at 5000rpm with a shear hog or other insert EM?
