I would like to sell the assembled kit.

Would sell for $85 + shipping for kit which included shroud, fan, fan grille, brass heat set inserts, screws ( 7) and spade disconnect crimp on lugs.

Looks awesome! How is the air flow in comparison to the built-in one?

I balanced my fan by putting some tiny screws in the fan in certain locations, but it is still not perfect. About 75% of the vibes are gone though.

Hard to say since the Noctua fan is uniform at all speeds and the motor fan was almost not there at low speeds.

Nice job! This is great, does this fan keep the motor as cool? Before/after pics of the wall & surface finish? We played with static balancing the fan, rubber damping the motor & mount and the V link belts years ago on the first set of S1 & SII 1100s. The improvements cut finishing time by half.

On my Series II+ it does quite well. Even after running near the yellow at low speeds there is no noticeable heating in the motor.

I am interested in one of these. Can you put it on eBay. That would help streamline your sales and make it easy to buy. I bought my coolant gauge that way.
    Thanks.

I'm interested in a fan kit too and sent a PM to that effect. Are the kits still available?

Received a nice package today. This might be the best use of 3d printing I've seen to date. Very well done - cannot wait to install. Trying to make a time slot to install this afternoon.

    Thank you Gary!

Mine's installed. Perfect fit, didn't even have to demount the motor to do it. VERY low noise, and less vibration.

Runs fine from a 12v dc power brick I already had in the head to power a ring light. Pulls about 100 mA or so, just used the two pins (ie, ignored the PWM wire).

Great job by Gary, well worth the price.

I got mine yesterday but it will have to wait for the weekend to install it. It looks like nitewatchman did a quality job on the design, implementation, and packaging.

Another happy customer here. Installed the fan kit this morning and like GLCarlson, I did not have to remove the motor. The spindle/motor is noticeably quieter (75db vs. 79db measured 3' from spindle @ 4000 rpm). Great instructions and the humor was appreciated.

    Thanks Gary!

I won't be able to post any pics for awhile but Gary's (Nitewatchman) earlier posts have some great photos. Let me know if you want something more specific.

Very happy with my install of Gary's fan shroud. Install was easy, funny instructions. But best of all its working very nicely - quiet and smooth. I also installed the same supply for the 12v (see pic) by moving a few parts to make it fit well in the control cabinet, I however decided against consolidating the FAN, Smartcool and spindle light as I did not want inductive load spikes to affect the other devices if they did is not properly setup the diode shunt to limit the huge spikes that instantly going to zero current on an inductor/motor can produce. Did not verify if they were well protected or not - will check some time in the future.

Can confirm it fits well with rapidturn induce component placement changes - see pics for quick change kit and door sensor stickup, it leaves good clearance - did not even have to remove the motor

I have it on the PC/monitor supply ckt so the fan is on while the system is up, noise is not a concern

    Thanks to Gray
