I've done changes on models and molds where I needed to blend to the surface without violating the surface. Having the ability to jog the machine while the cutter pass is running makes this process easier.
Non-conversational spot where I could just straight type in code.
Control of coolant in conv. screens
A better editor would be nice. I find the included one to be awkward.
That was a nice feature in Mach. There is a workaround I use ( actually have used a lot ):
1) Stop the program
2) Change or install a new tool enter the offset in the tool table - I use a separate height gauge, not a tool setter, but either would be ok.
3) reload the program, use 'FIND G30' to get the G30 just before the tool call for the 'changed' tool.
4) 'Set Start Line' and off you go.
You have to repeat some machining but usually won't scrap the part and you're not starting all over.
Would be nice if you could 'Set Start Line' at a safe Z from where you stopped and have coolant state and spindle state resume where you left off. With the above scenario you go back to the last G30 to get coolant and spindle working properly.
Does this mean that there is a V 1.9.9 coming soon? My V 1.9.8 still has the old shut down screen.

Until then, you can use https://konklone.io/json/ to convert JSON to a CSV. I just tried it and it works very well.

I would really like the ability to adjust the tool height offset during a tool change. Sometimes a tool needs adjusting.
I would like to see a whole lot more of the filename in the file listings on the left and middle screens.
Would be nice to be able to customize the UI, just like different colors and maybe even themes, fonts. I know it makes no difference and it is useless but I like changing things up sometimes.
Since I'm so slow at programming I really could have used a radius cutting feature.

Another vote for a "tall" tool offset for a default. Or an error message/break, or something. I finally got bit yesterday. Managed to save the part and drill, but scared the crap out of me!
I upgraded my 770 from MACH3 to PATHPILOT about a month ago.
I finally got around to playing with it yesterday, for a full day.
Here's a couple of things that bugged me:
1. When checking a new program, and scrolling thru the lines, PathPilot doesn't "plot" the moves on the display. MACH would display every move, line by line. I used to watch the moves, to know my program was going where it was supposed to go.
2. The on-screen editor needs some tweaking. I edited a program, renamed the file, saved it, but when I closed the editor, it vanished! It wasn't in my catalog anywhere. I was pissed!! I don't know if I did something wrong, or what. But in MACH, an edited program would automatically be loaded after editing.
3. Where can I speed up the G00 Rapid move? Parameters somewhere?
Just a few minor gripes.
Overall, I think PathPilot is great software. From what I hear, it doesn't have the famous Glitches that MACH has. Yay!!
