    USED torch height control-avthc

I am intersted in an arc voltage torch height control, if one is available used. I have the 4x4 small shop machine with a hypertherm 1000 G3 with machine torch and font upgrades already installed, and I need to know what boxes need to be upgraded as well as software or anything else to make it perform properly. Is such an animal even available, since it seems to be a much needed addition to the system for improving quality and consumable life, especially on the thin materials I use for art and fun. If it is available what would a fair price be? I am somewhat of a purist, I believe the OEM stuff works best with their equipment and would therefore prefer to keep my TM system all TM if possible. Oh yeah just an after thought, I love this machine, and the support I have gotten is world class and second to none. Too bad other OEM cant or wont ascribe to the same principles of customer satisfaction and service. So you know where my money and business go, to support such a refreshing return to old school values. Mike, any help here? Thanks!!!

    Bob,

How old is your Torchmate system? Our AVHC System complete costs about $2400 new, and works with your existing system. I checked with Parts and they do have an Older Style AVHC system on the shelf that could be more than %15 off that price. The reason I ask the age of the machine is because the older TM systems won't be able to take full advantage of the OK to Move signal from your plasma cutter that our AVHC system takes advantage of, without an upgrade to the latest chip and software. However our slightly older system that is delay based still is a fully functional AVHC system that would work great on an older TM machine.

If you are using version 2.20 or newer you would be best off with the new system but would still work with the slightly older system.

Any questions on this you should give Brook in our Parts department a call, and she can help you out with any other pricing questions!

Thanks for the reply Mike, My machine is several years old and I love it other than the occasional torch strike from lack of torch height control. I just got a quote you will love from Hypertherm. There Arc voltage controller is a mere $5000.00 and only available with a long wait for it to be manufactured. I was trying to save money and you guys did it again, best product/best price. Now I gotta save some disability money and make the buy. Thanks!!!
