    build a tm1 ?

Hi I have a small machine shop and would like to build a cnc plasma table. Is the tm1 good is the repeatability good providing wy frame work is good. Am I better off buying the software and motors someware else and just design the whole thing myself to save money I have found all of this in a kit someware else for much less.
If torchmate was selling the tm1 with the height control , interface for plasma , and the cad module for the kit price I would buy it with out thinking.

what is anyones opinion Thanks Mike

Thumbs up I'd go with TM.

I've been a metal fabricator for almost 30yrs Mike so the fabbing part of any table wasn't an issue for me, but getting into this brand new field of CNC plasma cutting led me to realize like anything, you can't beat a man at his trade, (TM's trade is making plasma machines that work, with excellent tech support.) I see so many people on here trying to get the absolute cheapest cost on a machine somewhere, and that's fine, but just realize that when you purchase all the things seperately, and put them together I guess you could probably make it work, but at least for me, I didn't need to try and learn a whole new trade ( electronics technician or whatever ) to get into plasma cutting. I decided it was better to let TM make some money selling a product that I could use to make some money also. I would never ever trade the Tech support that I have recieved over the past yr and a half from TM. Without it, I would still be sittin here with my thumb up my, well you get the idea. I will guarantee you that if your are not an experienced cnc plasma table operator there is going to be an amazing amount of questions that will come up for you,( from the CAD program to the CNC machine itself ) , and having a good tech support dept to turn to is worth every cent that TM made in my humble opinion.
But Good Luck with what ever you decide to do, Mike
Hope it all works for you
Cause it sure is cool when you get one of these things up and running smooth and are making shapes. Good Luck Shapenfab
