    Question Torchmate Kits

Has anyone had any experiance with torchmates standard kit or the torchmate 2 kit? The standard kit seems like a affordable way to get your foot in the door for plasma cnc. Any input would be great.

Im new to the forum and have read alot of amazing stuff that people are doing with cnc and I really want one. I presently cut all my stuff by hand but its very time consuming and think cnc would be the way to go. I hope sombody has had experience with torchmates 1 or 2 kits and can give their input. Maybe im asking my question wrong or nobody knows. If the latter is the case they must not be the route to go. any input would be appreciated.

There are a number of people on here that have used them, and I know that the owner of Torchmate comes on here often.
Look through all the forums in the cncplasma forum, I know there are a few here.
You can also check the Flashcutcnc forum on here, as that is the software Torchmate uses.
Hope this helps, for what it's worth.

    Thumbs up torchmater

I use torchmate 2.14. a little learning curve but works ok for a repair shop as plasma and oxy. I built table from old heath shape cutter with electric eye, used all #2 motors and drives

    dfloch,

I built one 7 years ago.

    My system's is DOS based.

With Windows you will be much happier.

I would very seriously look for a gantry built using 80/20 aluminum extrusions.

My next gantry be built this product. Cam follower bearings have ALOT to be desired! They loosen up and your cut gets sloppy etc.

This system will get you in the door but I wish there were better options when I got into this back then.

I'll sell you my system, i.e. the computer and gantry. All you'll need to make is the table the gantry rides on
