We usually have the water from the top of the slats, to at least 1" below the slats. Since we typically run a 3" tall slat, this is about 4" deep.

Are you wanting a water table because you want it to control the smoke and crap or because you want to cut submerged for better cutting?

If its the latter I can;t help, but if its the former I can tell you that I build a water table 6 inches deep that puts the water 3 inches below the slats (which is what hypertherm said, 6 inches from the torch or it could be damaged. I can tell you this did not help with the smoke and quality of air in my shop. I have since sealed up the sides to the TM2 4x4 table and installed a blower fan which creates a poor mans down draft table, cover all the table around the material to be cut with rubber matting to seal up the top and results in a far superior quality of air. I keep the water table to catch crap but I presume on would not need the water table at all and still succeed in catching the air. Also if you cut lots of AL the hydrogen buildup due to the water table supposedly can reach explosive levels.

yes I have, the bevel could be many things, incorrect cutting speed, nozzle is no longer round or too big, moisture in the compressed air. I have found any one of them causes bevel.
