Auto Heigh Control unit Not working properly

I have a blue screen height controller and today we were cutting some metal and it came up from a cut and kept going and the gears started to grind inside. When I stopped the program it stopped the grinding but the screw shaft kept wiggling back and forth like it was adjusting like it should when cutting. This control unit is in manual mode as it has never worked properly (it would work fine then all of a sudden dive into the plate, catch it and move it around and I gave up fiddling with and run it in manual now.) Any ideas?

Have you contacted Torchmate tech support? I have a TM3 with the red display. My auto height doesn't have gears as the motor is connected to the drive height screw.

You say that it's never worked right. How long have you had the machine?

    Regards

    Dan

mine is also connect directly to the screw but something inside there is making noises like gears grinding.

It was bought in the school year of 2007 but the teacher before me never set it up, I uncrated it and set it up of October of 2008, never had it work proper since

Jake has helped me a lot when it comes to small issues. Don't email the support page because they won't reply.

It sounds like you're in a school setting.

That's great that tech support was able to get you up and running! I take it that the autoheight is working now.

Yes, I've found Torchmate's tech support to be top notch! When I call, it's like I'm the most important person and no question is too small.

There are 5 people whose job it is to check the support@torchmate.com email address all day long, I assure you this is not the case.

Often the case is the replied email becomes blocked or sent to a spam inbox, to which we can't help. Obviously the support department is always and only a call away and for the fastest possible resolution I would recommend that route, but we have many international customers who only rely on email communication.
