    Cutting order

I've just finished installing a Torchmate 5x10 that I have purchased from
a bankrupt company. Everything appears to be working correctly as I have been able to cut a few pieces in manual mode. I don't have the torchmate
cad program but have been using Corel Draw which I'm familar with to make the dxfs. My problem-is there any way to arrange the cutting order in Corel Draw.
Cutting the outside profile and then the inside doesn't work well as I'm sure you know. Thanks

Could you create 2 dxf files in Corel?

    1) DXF-1 Cut all the inside parts.

    2) DXF-2 Cut outside profile.

Just make sure the starting X & Y points (Home Position) for both dxf are the same.

I believe it cuts out in the order drawn. I've heard of customers cutting the object out of the software, then pasting it right back in which makes it the most recently drawn object, or last to cut. If there is a way to sequence the parts numerically, the last or highest number would cut last.

Did you receive the copy of Torchmate CAD with the machine? I would highly recommend using it if you did, for at least toolpathing your parts. Toolpathing makes all the insides cut first, it gives you your kerf width compensation, and allows you to create lead in's. It is a very short process that would save you a lot of time over drawing the object in the correct order, and drawing it with kerf compensation.

I'm using Sheetcam and it is very good + relatively inexpensive(under $200). You can set start points, kerfs, speeds, directions, etc.etc. I see it has posts for Torchmate also. Just my 2 cents worth.

I ran into this problem, even when using the torchmate software, the workaround I did was to run the machine with the cut off, until it got to the inner part, cut it out, then reset the software to cut the outer part, but that was for a little while we have since gotten Rhino 4.0 and rhinocam and run that, best package IMO

With the TM CAD, you can go to "Layout">"Sequence">"Sequence by List" and move all your cut orders around... ending with the exterior cut. This is handy when doing art type drawings.. for instance, you may want to "pierce" inside an already cut line to help hide the pierce hole.. you can arrange the cut sequence anyway you want. It's quick too...
