I have an old Clarkson. You can see a model of it here: http://www.barryjordan.freeola.com/clark.htm What lube do I use for the table ways? If I don't use any, it does't attract grinding debris, but it doesn't move well either. I've used ordinary car engine oil and use more time cleaning than grinding. It's just for my own hobby tools, but would like to treat it kindly. |

| I do not know from experience on a surface grinder but from other experiences I have used a spray on dry lube, worked well. It was made by Curtis Industries, not even sure if they are still in business but another brand should be available. That was 15 years ago, I would think even better technology would be available now for dry lube. |

| I use MObilgear 627 or Mobil Vactra 2. I like the Mobilgear better for the grinding machines. Engine oil is NOT a good way lube. I has too much parifin in it. It leaves deposits.
