Hello Guys, I'm pretty new to cutter grinding (1.75yrs) and have a ton to questions, but the biggest right now for me is what is considered an acceptable (or standard) amount of tir for an endmill? I guess I'm thinkng somewhere around 0.0005", but just am sure. FYI, I'm running an ANCA RX7 and using Schaublin collets, and find that I have to indicate all my tools to consistently get to that number. Thanks, Rob |

| TIR is a ratio to size and length the machinist hand book has the tolerances, check it out. How ever a like a dead needle if i can only check shank and I also stone around the shank if it is High Speed . Well I never used a CNC i out produce them by 50% and have to many skills. good luck |

with todays chucks and collet quality u should not need to indicate standard size tools we hold a tenth or two all day long unless u have an odd shank size or an x long tool or a lot of grind marks in u chuck oh our max runout allowed is .0005 on new builds and .001 on regrinds |
