I have a 3d image that sits inside of a bowl. Outside of the bowl the material is flat on the surface. How do I get rid of the extra outside material? I have meshlab, Cut3d(older version) and VcarvePro 4.6. File is about 8 meg and is an .STL format. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Mike
You can delete the unwanted faces/facets in MeshLab.

I am not familiar with your CAM software. In ArtCam, I would draw a circle of the correct size centered on the rosette (same x,y center point) and just cut outside of that circle to separate the rosette from the stock.
I am using MeshLab since my friend advised me, it is not a matter of a great deal to resolve your problem with it.
