    Default Help with routing HDPE Signboard

    So I am trying to make plaques for my son's baseball team. I am using 1/2" thick HDPE Signboard that is white on the outside and black core. When I use a 90deg V bit with a single pass it looks great. My issue is when I use a 30deg V bit after using an endmill for the flats it creates a lot of little cones that stay connected at the base of the 30deg V bit cut. I'm thinking about running the 30deg V bit first and then the endmill to finish out the flat bottom pocket. This will reduce the cones or hairs but not eliminate them, I think.

    Take a look at the pics. The logo is a very shaky looking font. The 2013, name, and players name is done with a 90deg V bit with no issues. I'm using V Carve. Anyone have any ideas on how to reduce the cones? Or di I see a lot of manual cleanup in my future?

    A - What is your toolpath feed & speed & router RPM ?
    B - In my opinion, I'd try also what your thinking.....V-bit 1st then endmill !...then make a final judgement !!
