Hmm.. That doesn't work for me either - I just end up with the raw HTML block in the post.

You have to have the first two options ticked in Miscellaneous Options

Yep, I have those ticked. ("automatically parse links in text," and "automatically embed media") I have a feeling there's a minimum post count below which it won't parse links/html - I've seen it before as an anti-spam technique.

    Testing again...

This is pasting the embedding text from YouTube, so it's parsing the html.

Something changed.. From way down at the bottom of the posting page:

Before, it was saying "HTML code is Off."

It's still not parsing links and embedding the playback widget, though:

    full URL paste:
[nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYuEmUyaafA"]YouTube- CNC Milling of Carlon Box Cover[/nomedia]

or link without the leading "http://"

    [nomedia]www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYuEmUyaafA[/nomedia]

Sure enough, back on my original thread in the benchtop machines forum, HTML is off:
