Where about in East TN. ?
Greetings:
I would like to announce the start up of the "East TN Metal Hobbies" Club.
I was talking to Bob Black and Steve Stallings (of PMDX fame), and decided to make a chapter in East TN area.
I didn't want to limit it to just Hobbie CNC machines, so it is open to any type metal or machine hobby.
I was thinking of having meets mabey once a month, in where people who have interest in: CNC Machines and Machining, Black Smithing and other metal working, Steam Engines, model this or that, etc.
Steve had mentioned to me that each week there could be a different topic or topics of interst, meet and greet, show your stuff, Swap Meets, etc.

As I said in my E-mail to you, I am in.... been wondering about something like this for a long time. Seems like no matter where I live the interests I have are oddball and the closest clubs/meets/tournaments are always a long drive away. My health has been a concern lately but when I am feeling good I will definitely be there. As I said I am in the Maryville, area so anywhere in the Ktown area or better yet south of there would be fine with me. Looking forward to meeting local metalheads like myself. This sounds like it might be fun.... peace

I will check the availablity of a local Blount county meeting place. I would like to start by going to local area machining or molding shops to get interest there..what do you think?
Bob
Hey Mr. Black,
sure that would be an option as well, it appears for some reason, we are just not in the traffic flow, there doesnt seam to be much response, should we advertize in the Digital machinist? mag........ or post other places??

well, I guess since no one has answered that that is two possibilities.
1. No one is interested in the East TN area.
2. We just are NOT in the main stream where visitors or the bulk of users on this site can see us??
any thoughts on how to go about rectifiying this, or just forget about it.

I'm not sure if this is the right fourm for this, I've never been on one before. I'm looking to sell my Plasma Cam DHC2. I don't really know of anyone in the East Tn. area that uses one other than a large busines. My hobby has shifted from Blacksmithing and metal work to knife and sheath making. I just don't use the machine any more. Sorry if this is not the proper fourm for trying to sell this thing. I would be very thankful to be pointed in the right direction.
Thanks Keith B.
Middle-TN CNCer's?
I live near Nashville (roughly exit 24 off I24 between Clarksville and Nashville), and don't have a CNC rig but am interested in building.
If you live/work near Nashville and would like to share interests, let me know and we can possibly do 'something'.
i am enrolled in machine tool technology at TTC in clarksville. We have a full service machine shop with conventional and cnc turning and milling machines. I am highly interested in model scaled engines and am in dire need for plans for a model v twin engine
would like it to start a project on a mini chopper. but i do prefer makeing all metal parts.
i am also interested in this group i will check back tommorow for a reply
thanks
