    Techno Isel Post Processor...

... for the "A" Axis (4th axis rotary)... Anyone have a PP for the Techno Rotary?

Also, I have some client supplied rotary g-code that needs to be modified to run on the Techno PP... anyone "got skills" in Techno PP area that can help me out?

    Thanks,

    Dave

    post processor for which software?

if it is already g code it should run as long as the arc codes are correct. and it fits on your table. the preview on the interface won't show A axis movements. if the program is 4 axis simultaneous motion, it will rotate around one of the axes, usually the x or y. if the rotary axis is only being used to index the work piece it isn't as critical. alignment with the fourth axis makes depth absolutely critical, as errors are doubled. if you are working between centers, make certain that your centers are perfectly aligned or it can cause problems too.

I use my fourth axis for both methods and use Mastercam to generate my geometry and g code, a standard fanuc post will work pretty well with some minor adjustment

    Montabelli...

Here is a small test file from a client... who outputs G-Code (usually for Mach3 I am told) but wants to see if I can run my Techno 4th axis with his code... (Seems he can't code it for Techno Isel and wants to see if I can run it "as is" or modify it to run on my machine.)

So bear with me, as I am new to 4th axis work and modifying Post Processors.

I use Aspire a lot but they do not support true 4th axis... so I use madCAM for indexing and simultaneous 4th axis (they support Techno Isel, but since the client supply's g-code only, and not any 3D CAD files, I can't use madCAM to generate new executable code...)

If I understand correctly, I should be able to:

    1. Paste the code below, into a blank Techno File on the Techno Interface
    2. Pre-process the file and then run it as is?

    3. Or... modify it to work with the Techno interface?

    4. I don't use Mach3, so I don't know if there is code in this file that should be deleted or changed or additional code added.

first look in your manual and find which g-code and m-code commands techno supports. I never use g53 and 54 nor do I mess with the line of g40 etc theoretically if it is not supported it will be ignored.

the easy way to test motion is to make sure your axes are all away from all obstacles and cut some air . just keep one finger on the escape key and one in the e stop. as long as no motion looks like it should hit any thing it should be able to run. if there is a problem in the preprocessor, the syntax should be OK.

its best to understand what the g-code3 definitions are then you get a better idea what to expect from the file.
