I just purchased an Isel Davinci Servo model from a school auction. I was wondering if there was pdf version of the manual for the cnc interface. I seems to be under the impression that the x axis is 80+ inches long (at least it is aspiring to personal growth) and although I am sure I could fumble through the calibration process but if there were a user manual available I could save a bit of time.
Also it is old enough to have 98 on it for and OS and 256K (soon to be 512). I am missing the disks for the interface but am wondering if I could put the proprietary card into a faster PC w/ XP and a Gig of ram. Any thoughts??

Is there anybody on this forum that has a servo Da Vinci and who would be will to share the scale factors that are in the system set up machine. I bought it used from a HS auction and it is under the impression that a line like this ___________________ is 8-9 inches long on the X axis. .

your scale factors are set based on the encoder pulse count and screw pitch for each axis. if you know those two things it is easy to calculate. I suspect you have 5mm pitch screws. and depending on the age of the machine, either 500 or 1000 line encoders which in quadrature would give either 2000 or 4000 pulse per revolution resolution. 5.08 rev per inch * encoder ppr should be your count. test it and adjust as needed.
There should be a hand written number on a sticker for each axis. Put that number in the correct place under settings in the control software.

thanks everybody. I am making a backup of the HD tomorrow then upgrading to the newer interface and windows XP. this is actually my 3rd machine. I have built 2 using Mach software. This is my first machine that I didn't have to build and I am not as familiar with the design as I am accustomed to being.
