    Techno Canned Routines?

Does anyone know if the Techno Control Software allows for storing of repetitive routines, so all you have to do is load and touch-off the tool and run the routine when the need arises?

I have a number of repeat jobs, that occur at different locations on the table, and it is a pain to Zero the X and Y every time I want to run one of the routines. It would be great to just call up a named routine and have the ZERO locations ready to go and then touch-off and let 'er rip!

Make allowances for my ignorance and be nice... it's way too hot right now to deal with head slapping!

    TIA,

    Dave

I'm not sure I'm following you.

In general I have work locations defined by subfixtures that mount to an overall fixture plate that is bolted to my table. I use different offsets (under setup offsets) to define new coordinate systems (offsets from home) for the subfixtures to match where my part is located in cad/cam. Used like this I home, I check some reference locations on my main fixture plate with an edgefinder, then use the appropriate work offset for what I'm going to machine. I rarely rehome/zero (like months...) and keep the machine powered on. If I'm going off fixture I just set zero with an edgefinder etc. I only touchoff if I'm changing a tool or Z datum.

Hopefully I'm making sense. The controller doesn't care if you zero, it'll just use whatever you've got set. You just need to make sure that works for your stock and how you've done your cam.

    offsets

Yes you first home the machine, then with your origin zero'd go to setup - offsets - save origin. Very handy.

I find it is easy to add a small amount of g code to the front of the file to move it to a set of coordinates and then g92 to re zero the xy position and run your program. since I don't have tool change, I have it move to a convenient tool change spot pause I touch off and then i can enter a length offset with a g92 I usually pause with an M0 for the touch off.
