    Techno CNC Router

So I am looking for some free software to create some basic 2D layouts for Techno CNC router. I know mastercam is out there but it is over the top for what we need, we just want to create some pieces out plywood circles and knotches.

The only problem with buying software specific for your needs is when you want to do more with your router. It always happens. I first started with basic software to do shapes as well. Then I learned I could do much more with my router very easily and kicked myself in the butt because i didn't buy the more advanced software!

My suggestion is you spend a little more money and get vcarve pro or if you really look in the future and have about 2 grand then get aspire.

With aspire I don't think you will ever need to spend money on cnc software again! (At least until the next grandiose version comes out and you have to have it!) The initial investment hurts but it sure feels good later when you can do what you want when you want.

You can do simple things by writing your own gcode file and arraying it in the techno interface, if you need to a lot of different parts, there are lots of different programs out there just make certain that the program will add cutter compensation in the computer, or bit changes will be a potential source of aggravation.
