    Lathe projects and materials

    Two questions
projects?: darts, chess pieces, pens, candle sticks, any other cheap ideas

materials?: delrin stock (expensive) what about wood. tried some hardwood dowels from Home Depot but they were ripping up a lot. Cheap ideas for the classroom?

What do you guys use you classroomlathe for?

What about keychains or a mini led flash light? Could be made from cheap small round stock, either aluminum or stainless.

They keychain could be made of two parts that need to be screwed together, or have some other distinct shape that requires a couple basic operations. The more advanced students could do a flash light.

I knew I’d seen a website about making flash lights. This one is a little bigger than a led, but still pretty cool.
