and must comment on the lack of higher education in this field.
You can't get the entirety of CNC from books.
We had in-plant courses and on-the-job training during the early days of NC.
Higher education disregarded us as a vocational/trade type field.
It takes years of experience to become fluent in all aspects of this.
As a result there is now a shortage of experienced educated persons in the "trade"
The companies just gave big paychecks and hired us until we were done and then we moved on to the next job. I learned on the go as most of the "oldtimers" have.
