Converting a Taig, will this work? I have only ever done manual machining. However, I'm trying to build a small desktop CNC to learn on. I was planning on buying a Taig. I was also looking at the Xylotex 4-axis board and these stepper motors: http://www.clickautomation.com/produ...id=399&cid=158 Can you guys tell me if these motors would be compatible/not underpowered by the Xylotex controller? As far as I can tell they are, but I wanted some reassurance. Also, is the Xylotex controller a good buy? Any known issues or downsides to it?

I often see motors like that go on ebay for pretty decent prices, lower than that if thats just one motor.(don't take my word on it, I beleve its right) From what I beleve, I think Taig has a cnc'd mini mill already dont they? or dont they make the retrofits for their mills? Jon

Taig has a cnc already, but building my own would be slightly cheaper ($200), would provide slightly stronger steppers, a 4th axis capability, and would be more fun.

definitely Any idea what voltage they run at? It's not listed in the spec sheet. They aren't double shafted so I would lose the hand cranks. But for the price, I might just have to go with them.

| Nice motors. You could email them about the voltage. I imagine it's a low voltage. Eric
