I am new to the CNC Zone.

I am buying a Taig Lathe, not just the bare lathe but a whole "system" with a 1.5 HP DC motor (with an Industrial Strength controller), a 3 jaw universal and a 4 jaw independent chuck, a Dorian tool change system with three holders and various boring bars and lathe tools. Now it is a manual system.
I was high bedder of this Ebay item, (Ebay #220038155963) and I expect to receive it in two to three weeks.

I expect to convert it to CNC within the year and I shall be looking here for assistance at that time. The longitudinal feed is by a handwheel rotating a pinion against a rack that is mounted to the lathe bed. That will have to be replaced with a lead screw, I am thinking of buying that from Taig, along with the matching bronze nut.
