I'm looking for small benchtop/desktop milling cnc machine. I will machine 2"x2"x1/2" thick aluminum parts. I will appreciate any reviews.

what do you guys think about the small CNC router machines from China? Will they handle 3/8" thick aluminum?

Taigs are great little mills, and the parts you're talking about are well within their capabilities. Dennis (who posted the link) provides a non-standard control system with the ones he sells, you can also get a control built by Taig/Microproto or put your own system on their CNC-ready mill.

CNC routers are generally intended for wood and other soft materials. If your main intended task is metal removal, then a CNC milling machine (like the Taig) is more appropriate.
