There is someone from the Mach forums selling one. The feedback there seems good.

While browsing Deepgroove's site I found the following page describing a probe:http://www.deepgroove1.com/probe/probe.htm .
I think this device could be useful for determining the dimensions of something you want to duplicate. However there is no information on the site about how the thing works, what software it uses or how much it costs. Can anyone provide this information? Has anyone purchased and used this successfully?
Thanks.

bob,
Thanks for the information but I do not think the two probes are the same. For example, one difference is that the Deepgroove unit has a ruby tip as pictured below.
What a fabulous site.......it has a checkout and sales facility but no way of purchasing anything!
Re the Probe - carbon build up after 200,000 operations? Come on! Renshaw probes - the industry standard, use the same operation principles and steel / brass materials and they don't need special treatment and cleaning. We're talking 5v contacts - hardly spark inducing! Nice looking unit though!
The probe on deepgroove1 site is the same probe the Art Fenerty (mach 3) uses.
Mach 3 has a plugin for the probe. Yes probes do create oxide buildup and so does rotary switches on an integrated amp.
