    Catch those chips?

    Hey guys,
just curious about your methods to stop chips flying all over the room.
I cant buuld an enclosure right now, so I grabbed some plexyglass instead.

what are the most versatile locations and attachment methods for chip shields?

I use something like this: http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/3...pshieldup0.jpg but with wider plexi and using loc-line attached to the head of the mill.

This just prevents it from flying forward though. You can try to curve, or angle the plexi to cover the sides too (heat gun, etc).

I made a quick enclosure out of fluted plastic (Coroplast). I got a couple of pieces from Home Depot, added some self stick velcro to the bottom and to the edge of the table. It is light, cheap and easy to take down.

I use a shop vac when I'm not using coolant. My 6 year-old likes to hold the nozzle, and she looks darn cute running a machine.
