I have not seen a Post for Gibbs anywhere....might try the gibbs forum
you can also try the standard Fanuc post it may work
Hey guys just got a Taig CNC from Deepgroove1. (which went great btw..good guy)
Its running off the Gecko Drive and I'll be using GibbsCam to get my Gcode.. well at least in theory. I am just about ready to cut my first part but i seem to need a Post Processor File (.pst) in order to make the Gcode. What Gives?! Where do i find something like that? anyone got a spare? heh..

huh? post processor must be correct for your machine, or else machine will never work well. you may find one of your machine's correct Gcode, try to make one processor by txt, not sure if it may go, just try.
Like TOC Admin suggested, try the Fanuc postprocessor, it may be close enough to the needs of whichever controller software you're using. You might need to tweak a few things, like how it handles tool changes, line numbers, comments, etc.

thanks for the replies. gibbscam seems to have a plugin utility called PostHaste that im suposed to figure out... *sigh*![]()
Which interpreter software are you using? (EMC, TurboCNC, Mach, etc.)

Yeah, I'm in a similar situation. I'm using solidcam for solidworks with mach3 on deepgroove's geckodrive g540 setup but my gcode is off by alot.
eg, my part is 75mm wide on the x-axis. I see gcode generated that says X75 blah. When that runs....the x-axis motor tries to go way off the table.
Is there a write up somewhere that describes what this postprocessor is for and stuff?
Add a G21 (metric) to the beginning of your programs, and the machine will stop trying to run 75 inches off the part.

Put the G21 in the starting code of your post-processor, and it'll add it automatically to all of the code it generates.

This is the first time that I've heard of GibbsCAM. The website doesn't mention a price. What does it cost?
I'm trying to keep track of the CAM software which is affordable for use with a Taig. Most of the software costs far more than a Taig + CNC conversion. I'm using CamBam Pro ($150ish) pretty happily, but curious about other options too.
A post processor is a template used to convert the generic gCode output by a CAM tool into gCode that is specific to your CNC software. Most will come with default post processors for the popular CNC software (such as EMC2 or Mach3).
