Default Taig lathe + no Taig chucks?

Hi. Is it possible to use a 3-jaw x 3" self-centering metal lathe chucks (K11-80 Type) with 3/4-16 back plate with Taig lathe? Or to look in the direction Sherline chucks? Thank you.

I suppose you could do that. But why not just buy some Taig chucks? They cost less than the Sherline ones, and you don't need to fit a backplate on them.

Thank you. Yes, the original is of good quality and value. I bought a Taig 4-jaw self-centering Chuck. But I need the steel jaws, and grooves for larger diameters.

Then you should get the #1030 4-jaw independent chuck: Taig Tools - Desktop Milling Machines and Lathes. . It has steel jaws that are reversible for larger diameters.

Yes. This chuck, I plan to take in the future. But the taig lathe I bought for small serial cilindrical parts from aluminum and steel. And not to spend too much time in accurate installation of the workpieces. I tried to work with such chuck little time. And he still prefer the original.
