Make sure your ballscrews have at least .5" lead, or it won't be very fast.
Hey guys. Just wanted to share my initial design (mostly borrowed) with you all and get some feedback. We're building this for our model shop at work, so I'm excited about this project.
The cutting area will be roughly 60" x 60" x 6".
I'm using rexroth linear bearings from our tool crib along with rolled ball screws (either 3/4" or 1", not sure yet). I plan on using nema 960oz 34 steppers to drive the screws.
Basically, I just wanted to throw this out there to see if anyone notices anything that I may have overlooked so far that I need to consider. I appreciate any and all comments!
