The standard Cartesian coordinates are a defined as spindle movement the direction in the X left= - , right = +.
Y axis standing in front of the table would be away from you in the + and towards you on the Y -.
This would be for a Gantry as the Z & spindle moves and is positioned as above.
BUT with a Mill, the Spindle is fixed so the table has to move in the opposite direction the spindle normally would to achieve this.
So in your case if a mill then it would appear wrong in the X & Y.
