What the heck... Using male connectors as outlets...how can they even be allowed to sell it like that? It's almost like selling an extension cord with plugs in both ends...
That live plug is pretty unbeleivable, all you'd need would be a nice stringy bit of aluminium swarf for a very dangerous short.
I love deadlines- I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
I don't think it is compulsory to comply or conform to UL standards (US) when importing (other countries have a similar standard). But I would think the agent or importer of the equipment could be liable if an incident occurs due to equipment not conforming to UL etc, and if one has commercial insurance, it may have a rider that only equipment with UL or other recognized safety standard applies.

please understand that this currently a internal Syil issue.
it is of my opinion that our check and balances / inspection is working correctly through the dealers, none of these machines will make it or have made it to any customers. Syil china is committed to resolve this issue with the dealers immediately.
I suppose even they've got to do something when you could end up killing your own customers. The other shortcomings they can happily ignore.
This is serious
I understand that Syil are trying to resolve the issue but this is a life threatening situation and all machines should be recalled and repaired immediately. As well as a notice to stop all machines until the repair is done
These Plugs should never be used for High voltage and if there is any machine out there that has them wired must be repaired or replaced immediately.
Beware as I am a wiring harness manufacturer is that there are many plugs are not approved for high voltage work. So ensure the replacement is approved by your country
That was a poor response taken directly from the manufacturers handbook of coverups. Remember Firestone 500 tires? Pinto gas tanks? ad infinitum.
If I had one of these machines, I would probably stand on a thick rubber mat and jab at the on-off button as fast as possible. If they built them with such a glaring fault, who knows what's inside. The moderators should not have allowed that post to disappear- They have bent over backwards to quash posts about poor quality and legal issues for their paying advertisers, but safety is a whole different ball game.
