X4+ More spindle speed by changing timing pulley?

Is it possible to increase the RPM to around 5000~6000 RPM by changing the spindle timing pulley to around half its size?

I still have an original SX3 pulley that came in the spindle motor which is half size of the spindle pulley, using it at the spindle side of the timing belt it should double the speed to around 7000.
Of course I can get a larger pulley to get around 5000RPM

Will the spindle support this speed increase? or to rephrase, whats the maximum speed the spindle can handle?

I see in the Sieg site their cnc machines are offered in 5000 and 7000 RPM

    Peu,
You may have to replace the bearings with a higher rating, but this may not be too much of a drama. I would be interested to hear what Syil have to say regarding this???

    Thumbs up me too

Pablo, I was just thinking about doing something similar. I know the bearings will not take the higher speeds so I would like to hear from Syil or any body that may have upgraded. Also I am not sure how fast the spindle is balanced for.

    Hi Peu

You want to do away with the timing pulleys & use a poly V belt these are much better than the timing pulleys

My question wasn't aimed at whats the best way to do it, I want to know if increasing spindle speed can be done without damaging the spindle.

    Hi Peu
You are not going to damage the spindle if you have the right bearing for the speed you want to do & change the pulleys like I said & use a poly V belt for smooth running at high RPM

mention kx3 spindle 6000rpm.we test it too, when run around one hour the temp very high around 75c~80c.in fact our x4 run this speed also similar temp.so we are in redesign spindle to make a real high speed spindle.

we are working on that.and test pass, ready to mass production.the noise, temprature total well...

    Hi, any updates on this?

I would be interested in having different sets of pulleys on the SX3 for different RPM ranges.

How does the X4 Speedmaster do it, the spindle that is.

    Thanks.

i think the speed master as a 1:1 ratio with a high speed motor
