in all honesty you cannot expect none of those machine to come in perfect, they all have there little conception flaw but overall offer performance that are ok as long as you treat them the way they should be... like small machine if you want my point of view both machine are on par with each other and both will require you some tweaking and adjusting out of the box, both machine are more then capable to make quality part but as i said if you treat them right so basicly it comes down alot more to how you check it, adjust it, clean it and operate it ounce you got it and wich one will cost you less. also in all honesty i do not think that there is a great advantage in having the X4+ over the X4 since the front panel is in its first version and would definitly need to be able to interact with mach3 in order to become a usefull addition to the machine

edit:you should definitly start your own thread instead of posting inside others thread

ah one last point i highly recommend that you should not buy the 4axis with in head of doing full 4 axis operation so far it as only proven worthy of positionning but not full 4th axis work they really need to work on this one...

Ataxy i have to agree with you at both points x4+ not having any usefull advantage when working with mach 3
also the 4 th axis is as you says for positioning mostly.
