X3 machine

I have had an X3 for nearly a year now and because of the problems I had, I have not been able to run a part in it. Now the emergence swicth won't let me reset it, I cannot run it manually because the top window is out and no body in the world can tell me what form is the macro can run in the machine. I used bridgport for a long time and made plenty of parts and my bridgport programs won;t run is the X3!

Uhh. What?

Top window? Huh?

Whose X3 do you have? Is it CNC converted? Are you using Mach 3?

More details please.

Oh! Ok, you have an SX3. Sorry! I missed the Syil Forum message. What problems have you been having over the year and what has Syil America been doing to help?

Hello trainfred,
It sounds like maybe your display has shorted out. There is a reported problem with some of the SX3's where the display gets shorted out. If you got it from Syil America I recommend you contact them about getting a replacement. You will need to ensure that the replacement is insulated properly so it won't end up the same as the original. Richard at Syil America should be able to help you out with information etc. to get it fixed. Once you get it fixed you may want to look into buying some CAD/CAM software to create the toolpaths for the X3. You can do much of the g-code manually but it is so much easier to use a CAD/CAM program for this.
Best regards,

Thank you for your message. I contacted richard over the last year and left several messages but non of my phone calls did he return. I have bob cad and it general the programs I need but the macros, to shorten the program, I do not under stand. I can write a macro for most machines and they can run in most all of the machines but not the SX3 and no body can tell me what is did wrong. I contact Syil america with the program that I sent and aked the same questin of them. what am I doing wrong? they replied, that program that you wrote won't work in our machines. period. They did not offer any advice or nothing. So I am left with a machine that won't work and even if I did figure it out on the macros, I cannot run them on a machines that dosen't work. Thank for you input.

Trainfred.

This sounds like you have a software use problem. If you are using Mach3 you need to write your macros in the format that Mach3 can understand. These are software user issues and you need to read the Mach3 Manual as this explains how to write Macros. Writing or teaching how to write macros is not the responsibility of the Dealer.

READ THE MANUAL.

cheers

Help on the X3

Sir: I have read the manualboth front and back, all 181 pages of it. And somewhere about page 161 is a little paragraph label MACRO and in it is says contact your CAM provider for specifics on writing a macro or you can refer to the program and go to the what ever you call it anddrop down and to the macro and it will explain everything to you. I did thatand the macro is notthere and that why I called Richard to find out if I got the right program or not. But never, in the last year had richard even called me back. So I am stuck. Thank you for your suggestion.

Trainfred...

Your Cam provider is BobCad not Richard. You should be following up your queries with them.

Have you read the Bobcad Manual? See the section starting on Page 432 of the V21 manual... explains it in detail.

Hello trainfred,
I am thinking until you can get the needed information about the correct macro syntax you could just use the BobCad for toolpaths. This way perhaps you can work thru some programs with your X3 to become familiar with the machine and the Mach3 controller software. Also it will give you a chance to learn how to use the BobCad program and you may find it works fine for some things until you are able to implement your macros with the X3. I hope you get the needed help to get the machine running and to enable the use of your macro knowledge soon.

Help needed SX3 Syil Amnerica

Hi:

I seem to be getting it all mixed up. !. The machine I got has not work for a year. 2. It still dose not work and it develped more and more problems. 3. The programs that is supplied by themanufacturer is not the one listed in the owners manual. At leased it dose not make sence to me. Reacing the manual and it tell you were to go in the program but on the computer there is no such thing. I wanted to get a hold of Richard, because he did the commentary or it, the disk, to find out what gives. 4. I had contacted Bob Cad about the problem I was haveing with the macros and I got the disk on vers 21, not the manual, and no where dose it sayabout macro in the disks. Short of looking at the disk, all of them, I asked sonebody to help me and i spend hour and the shone and nothing. Maybe, what you said in the manual432 I will try it. Thanks. Now, who is going to fix my machine to run. That is the question. Thank for your input.
